Pioneering Tech Renaissance Walton Unveils ACC Brand in Bangladesh
Walton Hi-Tech Industries celebrated a momentous evening on Thursday with the launch of ACC, an international computer brand, solidifying its reputation as a trailblazer in Bangladesh’s technology landscape. Renowned for innovations ranging from mobile phones to elevators, Walton is credited with creating a technological renaissance in the country and advancing compressor manufacturing ahead of neighboring India.
The grand event, held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dhaka, marked the official introduction of ACC computers. The brand was unveiled by the Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division, Shish Haider Chowdhury, alongside the Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Md. Rezaul Maksud Jahedi.
Praising Walton’s compliance and brand integrity, Shish Haider Chowdhury stated, “Walton has set a precedent in branding and has never defaulted on tax payments. As we work to eliminate digital disparities, we must accelerate our progress exponentially.”
Presiding over the event, Chairman of Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd., S.S. Rezaul Alam, emphasized the company’s commitment to transparency and reliability in employment creation. He said, “Amid challenges like losing our heritage and becoming rootless, Walton Hi-Tech has entered the capital market to strengthen compliance and reduce investment risks. We aim to enhance our corporate discipline further.”
During the ceremony, Walton Digi-Tech announced the launch of nine ACC-branded IT products for the domestic market. Initially, the company will produce four models of laptops, two models of desktops, and one model of monitors under the ACC brand, told Walton DMD Liakot Ali while he is delivering his welcome speech. These products will feature Intel’s 13th and 14th-generation chipsets, along with AI-enabled Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors. Walton also plans to expand its ACC product line with additional IT devices.
A Legacy of Excellence
ACC, established in Belluno, Italy, in 1968, has a legacy spanning over five decades. In 2022, Walton acquired the rights to ACC, along with two other European electronics brands—Zanussi Elettromeccanica and Verdichter—beating global competitors in an international bidding process. The acquisition included manufacturing facilities, R&D capabilities, intellectual property rights, and trademarks in 57 countries.
Walton has already introduced ACC-branded televisions, air conditioners, and washing machines. With the addition of IT products, the company aims to further its global reach while continuing to contribute to Bangladesh’s technological advancement.
